A Launderworks alternative: a flat monthly price instead of a cut of rent

Of the tools here, Launderworks is the most like us. You get a website at your own address, the agreement signed online, and rent billed into your own Stripe account. The main difference between us is how you pay.

Launderworks costs nothing while a set sits in your garage and takes a share of rent when it comes in. That suits a small fleet. We charge one flat monthly price, so our cost doesn’t climb with every set you add the way a percentage does. The math below shows where that crosses over.

The break-even math

Example only: every set rents for $65.00 a month (the same example Launderworks uses). Their 2.9% is then $1.89 per set. Their $2.50 renter fee is paid by the renter inside your advertised price, so if you price it in, the total coming out of each invoice is $4.39. Stripe’s card fees apply with both and are left out.

Monthly software cost by fleet size at an example rent of $65.00 per set
Sets rented Launderworks 2.9% 2.9% + $2.50 renter fee DrumFleet
5 $9.45 $21.95 $29/mo (Launch)
10 $18.90 $43.90 $29/mo (Launch)
25 $47.25 $109.75 $29/mo (Launch)
50 $94.50 $219.50 $49/mo (Starter)
100 $189.00 $439.00 $99/mo (Growth)
150 $283.50 $658.50 $99/mo (Growth)
250 $472.50 $1,097.50 $199/mo (Pro)
400 $756.00 $1,756.00 $199/mo (Pro)

Higher rent moves the break-even down, lower rent moves it up. Over 400 active rentals we price Enterprise by quote.

Who should pick which

Pick Launderworks if…

you’re running a small fleet, you want zero fixed cost while you find your feet, you want a domain registered for you, and you rent only washers and dryers. Note their FAQ says they aren’t available to businesses in California yet.

Pick DrumFleet if…

your fleet is past the break-even above, you want a helper on their own login, you rent other appliances too, or you want ID on file before delivery.

Built on a working fleet

Four things generic rental software gets wrong.

We built DrumFleet as operators: our founder runs a washer-and-dryer rental business in northern Utah. It shows in the details — and every one of these is checkable inside the free trial.

Autopay starts on install day.
Not on signup, not on the 1st. The first invoice carries rent plus deposit plus delivery, then the cycle settles onto the billing day you chose.
The contract knows about relocation.
Minimum term, relocation fee, retrieval clause, ID on file. Renters move, and the paperwork either survives that or it doesn't.
Payback is tracked per machine.
What you paid, what it has earned, and the month it crossed over. This is the number the business actually runs on, and almost nothing else reports it.
A failed card starts a ladder, not a silence.
Retry, flag, then a dunning sequence on day 0, 3 and 7 — inside the grace window you set, before the retrieval clause is in play.

A flat price that doesn’t grow with your rent.

Try it with your own fleet before you decide.

No card required. 14-day free trial with every feature.
